Elda L. ‘Dolly’ Bohms

ROCK FALLS – Elda L. “Dolly” Bohms, 89, of Rock Falls, died Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Coventry Living Center in Sterling.

Born Dec. 3, 1923, in Emerson, she was a daughter of Henry and Anna (Ricklefs) Dravis. On June 30, 1948, she was united in marriage to Lester Bohms in Rock Falls.

Dolly worked in the office and as a sales associate at Wheelock Furniture in Rock Falls for 15 years until her retirement in 1974. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Rock Falls, where she enjoyed doing volunteer work and building projects. Dolly also volunteered at the YMCA and YWCA and chaperoned many band trips for the Rock Falls High School band. Dolly was an avid gardener, crafter and seamstress.

Surviving are her husband, Lester, of Rock Falls; a daughter, Rhonda Bohms of Rock Falls, and a sister, Dorothy Collinson of Sterling.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Walter, Edwin, George, Ronald, and her sisters, Alice, Clara and Vera.

Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Rock Falls, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Daniel Behmlander officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or the American Diabetes Association.
