Kathryn R. Webb

PROPHETSTOWN – Kathryn R. Webb, 91, formerly of Rock Falls, died Thursday March 7, 2013, at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Prophetstown.

Kathryn was born Dec. 22, 1921, in Morrison, the daughter of Ernest and Elsie (Merema) Shipma. She married Kenneth H. Webb on June 9, 1939, in Davenport, Iowa. He died July 13, 2007. Kathryn was employed by Kline’s Department Store and Prince Castle, both in Sterling. She enjoyed flower gardening, and was a member of Bethel Reformed Church in Sterling.

Survivors include two daughters, Janice (David) Seidel of Rock Falls and Meredith (Ray) Pryor of Hampshire; two sons, Larry (Deborah) Webb of Rockford and Jerry (Gail) Webb of Mendota; one sister, Anna Lou Chamberlain of Sterling; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; one sister; one grandson; and one great-grandson.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday and the funeral at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethel Reformed Church in Sterling, with the Rev. Gary DeKoekkoek officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Bethel Reformed Church and the American Cancer Society.
