Gun Lobby Day generates many questions
I participated in the March 6 Illinois Gun Owners Lobby Day. We were briefed on many issues.
One issue in particular gave me great concern. We were informed of some recent requests for purchase made by the Department of Homeland Security.
I wonder whether U.S. Rep. Cheri Bustos of the 17th Congressional District could tell the people of Illinois why the Department of Homeland Security needed to buy the following items: 21 million rounds of .223-caliber ammunition; more than 7,500 M16s with full auto-fire capabilities described as personal defense weapons; armored personnel vehicles and light tanks; drone aircraft to be used inside the U.S. borders; and 500,000 caskets.
