DIXON – Former FBI agent Candice DeLong will give a free presentation, “Special Agent: My Life on the Front Lines as a Woman in the FBI,” at 7 p.m. Thursday in Sauk Valley Community College's Mathis Theatre.

DeLong carried out the manhunt for the Unabomber, went undercover as a gangster’s moll, posed as a madam for a call-girl ring, and tailed numerous terrorists.

Until her retirement in 2000, DeLong was head field profiler in San Francisco for the FBI, served as liaison with the Bureau’s Behavioral Science Unit in Quantico, and gave a number of lectures on issues such as protecting women and children and preventing sexual abuse.

She has appeared on "Good Morning America," "48 Hours," and "The Early Show," and inspired a Lifetime movie, "Killer Instinct: From the Files of Candice DeLong."

Her presentation will allow audiences to see into the world of one of the most powerful law enforcement agencies and the dangers and rewards a woman in this career receives.
