Former FBI agent to speak at Sauk
Profiler DeLong led hunt for Unabomber
DIXON – Former FBI agent Candice DeLong will give a free presentation, “Special Agent: My Life on the Front Lines as a Woman in the FBI,” at 7 p.m. Thursday in Sauk Valley Community College's Mathis Theatre.
DeLong carried out the manhunt for the Unabomber, went undercover as a gangster’s moll, posed as a madam for a call-girl ring, and tailed numerous terrorists.
Until her retirement in 2000, DeLong was head field profiler in San Francisco for the FBI, served as liaison with the Bureau’s Behavioral Science Unit in Quantico, and gave a number of lectures on issues such as protecting women and children and preventing sexual abuse.
