Butterfly program is scheduled in Fulton

FULTON – Barb Hagenson of Clinton, Iowa, will speak about her research with monarch butterflies Wednesday at the Windmill Cultural Center, 111 10th Ave.

The free presentation is part of Wild Winter Wednesdays offered by the Volunteer Millers of De Immigrant windmill.

Coffee, tea, and a snack will be served at 9 a.m., followed by the program.

Hagenson has raised monarch butterflies for about 50 years, and has tagged them since the 1970s. Twenty-one of her tagged butterflies were recovered in Mexico. She will show a DVD titled “Journeys and Transformations,” and a variety of specimens in cases.
