Buckeyes spoil Senior Night

Deshaun Thomas and Aaron Craft scored nine of Ohio State's points in a decisive 11-2 run, leading the 14th-ranked Buckeyes past No. 2 Indiana 67-58 on Tuesday night in Bloomington, Ind.

Thomas finished with 18 points and Craft added 15 as the Buckeyes (22-7, 12-5 Big Ten) won their fourth straight.

Indiana had big plans for Senior Night.

After clinching a share of its first league title in 11 years with losses by Michigan State and Wisconsin on Sunday, the Hoosiers (25-5, 13-4) were trying to claim their first outright Big Ten crown since 1993. They will have another chance Sunday at No. 7 Michigan.

Cody Zeller scored 17 points and Christian Watford added 12 but the Hoosiers weren't themselves.

No. 24 Notre Dame 66, St. John's 40: Jerian Grant had 21 points and eight assists, Eric Atkins added 15 points and No. 24 Notre Dame held St. John's to 18 percent shooting in South Bend, Ind.

The Fighting Irish (23-7, 11-6 Big East) ended a three-game losing streak to the Red Storm (16-13, 8-9), who lost for the fifth time in six games.

Illinois-Chicago 82, Cleveland State 59: Josh Crittle scored 20 points, and Daniel Barnes added 16 in the first round of the Horizon League tournament in Chicago. 

Gary Talton added 11 points for the fifth-seeded Flames (17-14), and Hayden Humes and Marc Brown chipped in 10 apiece.

Charlie Lee led the eighth-seeded Vikings (14-18) with 17 points.

Illinois-Chicago moves on to face No. 4 seed Green Bay, which beat Milwaukee 62-46, on Friday in Valparaiso, Ind. The game will be the Flames' first in the quarterfinals since the 2008-09 season.

Youngstown State 62, Loyola (Ill.) 60: D.J. Cole banked in a driving bucket with 2.5 seconds left to lift Youngstown State in the first round of the Horizon League tournament in Youngstown, Ohio.

Blake Allen and Kamren Belin scored 15 apiece for Youngstown State (17-14). The sixth-seeded Penguins will play No. 3 Wright State on Friday.

Christian Thomas' 16 points led the seventh-seeded Ramblers (15-16).

Toledo 70, Northern Illinois 46: Matt Smith scored 16 points for the Rockets in a win in Toledo, Ohio.

Smith also blocked a career-high five shots for Toledo (14-13, 9-6 MAC West), which used a 13-0 run to lead 18-5. 

The Huskies (5-23, 3-12) have lost nine straight. Askel Bolin, with 14 points, was the only Huskie player to reach double figures.
