PROPHETSTOWN – Elsie C. Dahlquist, 98, of Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Prophetstown, died Monday, March 4, 2013. 

She was born July 27, 1914, in Uma, Colo., the daughter of Peter and Mary Ann (Vanderloo) Bannick. 

She left Colorado when she was 9 years old and moved to the Cumberland, Iowa area. She was educated in the Iowa school system. She married there, and her children were born in that area. She moved to Lyndon in late 1945, and later retired from General Electric. She also had lived in the Rock Falls, Sterling, and Prophetstown areas later in life.
