Drunken driver who killed pedestrian pleads guilty
Six other charges dropped; sentencing set for May
MORRISON – A Rock Falls man who was driving drunk when he hit and killed a pedestrian pleaded guilty Tuesday to aggravated DUI.
Chad E. Morse, 41, will be sentenced May 14 in Whiteside County Court for killing Brad E. Nitsch, 33, of Rock Falls, on Nov. 26, 2011. He faces 3 to 14 years in prison.
As part of a plea agreement, reached before his bench trial that was set to begin Tuesday, six other counts were dismissed: three counts of reckless homicide, another count of aggravated DUI, and two counts of misdemeanor DUI.
