All records sealed in murder case
Prosecutors 'scrambling' after sheriff issued release
DIXON – It's almost as if Steven Watts' arrest never happened.
The Lee County Court has no publicly available record that Watts, 56, of Berryville, Ark., was arrested and charged with first-degree murder on Feb. 28. That's because the court sealed all the records.
When the state's attorney's office sought an arrest warrant for Watts, it also requested a court order sealing the case, State's Attorney Anna Sacco-Miller said Tuesday. Officials wanted the records sealed, she said, to avoid alerting two other suspects.
