Winter snow storm barreling this way
Hunker down: Two-day snowfall anywhere from 5 to 12 inches is being predicted for the Sauk Valley, with the most snow expected Tuesday.
The heaviest snow is expected to occur along and north of Interstate 80, the National Weather Service reported late Sunday.
Winds will be gusting out of the east today, up to 25 mph at times, and compounded with falling snow, visibility will be cut to a half mile or less at times.
High and low temperatures are expected to remain fairly steady, in the high 20s to low 30s both days, the weather service said.
Once the snow hits 2 inches, emergency parking rules go into effect in most municipalities.
