Man’s body found in trailer park

STERLING – The body of a man was found about 5:30 p.m. Sunday in his home at Woodlawn Trailer Park, 1501 W. Fourth St.

Foul play is not suspected, Sterling Police Sgt. Bob Allen said.

Neighbors grew concerned when they had not seen him for a while, Allen said.

No further information was available late Sunday.

On pensions, Bivins and GOP far apart

Sen. Tim Bivins, R-Dixon, joined with many of his fellow Senate Republicans this week to reject a pension bill sponsored by Democratic Senate President John Cullerton of Chicago. The measure passed 40-16. Bivins had a different reason for his no vote.
