Police reports for Saturday, March 2, 2013

Dixon Police

Doron Douglas, 18, of Dixon; 7:27 a.m. Thursday in the 800 block of Franklin Grove Road; unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor. Arrested at the same time was a male juvenile, 17, of Dixon; unlawful consumption of alcohol and possession of tobacco by a minor.

Christopher N. Smith, 36, of Dixon; 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of Villa Avenue; failure to register as a sex offender; taken to Lee County Jail.

Male juvenile, 16, of Dixon; 1:16 p.m. Thursday in the 1300 block of West Second Street; no valid driver’s license; released to guardian.

n The Dixon Police Department will conduct special patrols this St. Patrick’s Day holiday to crack down on drunken drivers, Dixon Police said in a news release Friday. St. Patrick’s Day is March 17.

In addition to looking for drunken drivers, officers will increase seat belt enforcement, particularly at night when seat belt usage rates are lowest, the release said.

The department urges people to designate a sober driver and not let friends drive drunk.

Ogle County Sheriff

Jose Saenz Jr., 24, of Sterling; Feb. 14; warrant for failure to appear; appeared in court Feb. 14.

Alyson Downy, 18, of Monroe Center; Thursday at Stillman Valley High School, 425 S. Pines St.; battery, after fight between two students. Arrested at the same time was a female juvenile, 17; disorderly conduct.

Stephen P. Schiller, 27, of Lindenwood; 10:08 p.m. Thursday at state Route 64 and Lynnville Road; driving while license revoked and expired registration; transported to Ogle County Jail.

Sterling Police

Corrinne E. Abell, 60, of Rock Falls, 5 a.m. Thursday, West 15th Street and Avenue G; no valid registration; posted driver’s license as bond.

Kathryn M. Scholl, 61, of Polo; 10:31 a.m. Thursday after accident at Locust Street and LeFevre Road; failure to yield; given notice to appear in court.

Brian W. Chapman, 31, of Sterling; 4:27 p.m. Thursday in the 300 block of Fourth Avenue; expired license plates and no insurance; given notice to appear in court.

Andrew T. McKinzie, 36, of Sterling, 4:59 p.m. Thursday after accident in the 1000 block of East Third Street; driving under the influence and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident; given notice to appear in court.

Terry D. McCombs, 52, of Sterling; 8:14 p.m. Thursday at East 23rd and Locust streets; no lights when required; posted driver’s license as bond.
