Dorothy G. Crady

FRANKLIN GROVE – Dorothy G. Crady, 96, of Franklin Grove, formerly of Dixon, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Franklin Grove Nursing Center, after an extended illness.

She was born Sept. 4, 1916, in Wyoming, the daughter of Sir Walter and Grace (Bumphrey) Scott. She married Raymond Crady in 1935 in Kewanee. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1974.

Survivors include her daughters, Kathleen Garren of Dixon, Marilyn Smith of Rockford, and Sharon Harrison of Polo; sons, Pete (Mary) Crady of Lyndon and John (Carol) Crady of Prophetstown; a brother, Bill Scott of Sterling; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a son, Sam; a sister, Myrtle; brothers, Melvin, Floyd, and Kenneth; one granddaughter; five grandsons; and one great-grandson.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday and the funeral at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon, with the Rev. Dan Bentz of Northside Baptist Church in Dixon officiating. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.

A memorial in Dorothy’s name has been established.
