BANK FRAUD CASE: Lyle J. Spaulding, 43, of Sterling; charged with eight counts of bank fraud. Federal prosecutors say Spaulding, while working for three Whiteside County banks, lent money to family members for his own use and took kickbacks.

Monday
THEFT CASE: Rita Crundwell, 60, of Dixon; charged with 60 counts of theft. Prosecutors say the ousted Dixon comptroller stole $11.3 in city funds between Jan. 1, 2010 and her arrest on April 17.
She also is convicted in federal court with wire fraud, in connection with what prosecutors say was the misappropriation of $53 million in city funds since 1990.

Tuesday
RECKLESS HOMICIDE/DUI CASE: Chad E. Morse, 41, of Rock Falls; charged with two counts each of aggravated DUI and misdemeanor DUI alcohol, and three counts of reckless homicide. Police say Morse killed a 33-year-old pedestrian in a drunken driving accident on Nov. 26, 2011.
On the docket: Bench trial.
HOME INVASION CASE: David A. Jones, 37, of Dixon; charged with home invasion and criminal trespass to a residence, both felonies, and misdemeanor unlawful use of a weapon and criminal damage to property.
Police say Jones went into a Dixon home through an unlocked window on July 28, found an ax and chopped through a door to a room in which people had locked themselves.

ARMED ROBBERY CASE: Donte Myles, 25, of Chicago; charged with armed robbery. Police say Myles robbed a woman at knifepoint April 2 and took about $2,300.

DOMESTIC BATTERY CASE: Moses D. Spears, 27, of Dixon; charged with aggravated domestic battery, felony and misdemeanor domestic battery, and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence, also a misdemeanor. Police say Spears hit and choked his girlfriend on March 1, 2012, and when she tried to call police, he grabbed the phone.

BURGLARY CASE: Ethan Seidel, 23; charged with burglary. Police say Seidel and two other men broke into Cash for Gold in Dixon on April 19 and stole a safe.

CHILD PORN CASE: Ronald N. Osborn, 61, of rural Dixon; charged with six counts of aggravated child pornography. Police say a search of Osborn’s computer on June 13 turned up multiple images of child pornography.

Wednesday
MURDER CASE: Steven A. Watts, 56, of Berryville, Ark.; charged with first-degree murder in connection with the beating and suffocation death of Gary D. Dawson, 30, of Peoria, in late August 1983.

THEFT CASE: Michelle A. Kemp, 49, of Dixon; charged with forgery and theft. Police say Kemp, a former manager for a now-closed real estate office, wrote nearly $50,000 in checks by forging the name of the office owner.

BURGLARY CASE: Travis S. Broderick, 18, of Amboy; charged with four counts of burglary and one count of misdemeanor resisting. Police say he and several others broke into a number of vehicles in Dixon in January.
He also is charged with residential burglary and theft; police say he broke into an Amboy home in January and took money and jewelry.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY CASE: Susan E. Emmole, 43, of Dixon; charged with residential burglary. Police say Emmole stole cash, coins, and watches from a home on the northeast side of Dixon on Aug. 9.

BURGLARY CASE: Josephine Emmons, 18, of Big Rock; charged with residential burglary and theft. Police say Emmons and another person broke into an Amboy home and stole money and jewelry in January.

Thursday
MURDER CASE: Byron E. Adams, 54, of Chicago; serving 60 years in prison for suffocating Margaret Atherton, 35, in her Dixon home on Sept. 11, 2009.
On the docket: Motion to reconsider his sentence and new trial.
THEFT CASE: Andrew S. Daniels, 20, of Dixon; charged with two counts each of felony and misdemeanor theft. Police say Daniels stole fuel tanks, car motors and other items throughout the county in January to be sold for scrap.
On the docket: Preliminary conference.
BATTERY CASE: Christopher J. Dever, 40, of Rock Falls; charged with two counts of aggravated battery. Prosecutors say Dever, a guard at the Dixon Correctional Center, shoved an inmate into a door frame on Oct. 8, 2011, and shoved another guard who was “engaged in his official duties.”

HEROIN CASE: Alax M. Farster, 35, of Dixon; charged with two counts each of delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, delivery of a controlled substance,and possession of a controlled substance. Police say Farster sold heroin to an informant more than once during a 6-month drug investigation. He was arrested Nov. 27.

GUN CASE: Joseph Ferlauto, 47, of Dixon; charged with possession of a firearm without a Firearm Owner’s Identification Card and possession of firearm ammunition, both misdemeanors. Police say Ferlauto sold a 22-caliber handgun and ammunition to an informant in November.

DRUG CASE: Salvatore Ferlauto, 50, of Dixon; charged with delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a church and delivery of a controlled substance. Police say he sold Xanax to an informant in October within 1,000 feet of Calvary Baptist Church.

BURGLARY CASE: Mitchell R. Jacobson, 25, of Rochelle; charged with burglary. Police say Jacobson and another man broke into an Ashton bar on Nov. 19 and stole bottles of alcohol.
Jacobson also is charged with two counts of burglary in connection with Nov. 9 break-ins at Dave’s Automotive and Ashton Foods.

CHILD ABUSE CASE: Naylor L. Rice, 18, of Dixon; charged with aggravated battery of a child, aggravated domestic battery, and criminal sexual abuse, a misdemeanor. Police say that Rice broke a 1-year-old girl’s arm when he grabbed and pulled her, and that he had sex with the girl’s mother, who is 15.

DISTRIBUTION OF HARMFUL MATERIALS CASE: Shannan L. Haenitsch, 40, of Polo; charged with distribution of harmful materials, a misdemeanor.
Police say Haenitsch gave a sexual video of himself to a 17-year-old on March 2, 2012.

SEX ASSAULT CASE: Jordan LeMay, 20, of Franklin Grove; charged with three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child. Police say LeMay raped a girl younger than 13 in summer 2009.

Thursday
CRACK COCAINE CASE: Robert T. McCloud, 49, of Sterling; charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and delivery of a controlled substance. Police say McCloud sold crack cocaine on several occasions.

HEROIN/DRUG CONSPIRACY CASE: Raymond Kent Brown; charged with delivery of heroin within 1,000 feet of a school, delivery of heroin, two counts of criminal drug conspiracy, and possession of heroin.
Policy say Brown and two other men met with an informant in January 2012 in a private parking lot in Dixon and sold the informant about a gram of heroin.
