Nix pay for Congress until things get fixed
My father used to tell me that the scariest words I’ll ever hear is, “We’re from the government, and we’re here to help.” He’d punctuate the joke with a loud guffaw. What’s going on in Washington no longer seems very funny.
Considering how messed up our government has become, I proposed that we stop paying our members of Congress and the Senate until they get things fixed. Why should parts of the government ever be forced to close because elected officials can’t agree to work together? Why should seniors, children, and the poor have to do without while senators are getting their checks?
We have plenty of blame to go around, no matter which party you might support. As far as I’m concerned, they’re all to blame. Every single one of them. When I say everyone, I mean from the top on down.
