DIXON – John L. Jones, 59, of Dixon, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at KSB Hospital in Dixon.

John was born April 29, 1953, in Dixon, the son of Charles and Lila (Helfrich) Jones. He married Diane Madden on March 25, 1972, in Dixon. He was employed by Freeman Shoes, Northwestern Steel and Wire Co., and Shippert Moving and Storage-Allied Van Lines. John enjoyed fishing, and was an avid NASCAR and Chicago Bears fan.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Jones of Dixon; two sons, James (Gina) Jones of LaSalle and John (Dena) Jones Jr. of Sterling; five grandchildren, Morgan, Marissa, Zoey, Destinee, and Allyson; one sister, Darlene (Butch) Hamrick of Dixon; four brothers, Kenneth (Lois) Helfrich, David (Janet) Jones, and Steve (Carol) Jones, all of Dixon, and Jeff Jones of Virginia; one aunt, Dorthy Helfrich; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
