STERLING – Ernest L. Rajnowski, 56, of Sterling, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.
Ernest was the third of six children. He loved to fish, watch the Chicago Bears, feed the squirrels every morning, and just have a good time. He loved to ride around town on his three-wheeled bicycle. Ernie would do anything he could for his family and friends. He had tremendous faith in his Savior, Jesus. Ernie suffered a traumatic brain injury in 1998. He lived with his sister, Tracy, and his nephews, Stevie and Tanner, after the accident. He still was able to do all the things he loved with the help of his sister. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ernest was born Nov. 27, 1956, the son of Ernest R. and Mary (Knapp) Rajnowski. He served in the Army. He was a member of First Open Bible Church in Rock Falls.
Survivors include his father, Ernest R. Rajnowski of Sterling; two daughters, Alison (Aaron) Goldsberry of California and Amy (Seth) Couillard of Bloomington; one son, Jacob Rajnowski of California; one sister, Teresa Dewitt of Sterling; three brothers, Richard (Nancy) Rajnowski of Sterling, Terrence Rajnowski of Como, and Robert Rajnowski of Sterling; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary; his maternal and paternal grandparents; one brother, Timothy; and his nephew, Ricky Rajnowski.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday and the funeral at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Open Bible Church in Rock Falls, with the Rev. Les Funderberg, pastor, officiating. Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling is handling arrangements.
A memorial has been established.
