Show brings ‘complete Beatles experience’

ROCK FALLS – American English, a Beatles tribute band, will perform at Rock Falls High School at 7 p.m. March 9.

The concert, sponsored by the Optimist Club of Rock Falls, benefits scholarships for local students. The Optimists hope to pack the house and raise $15,000 for scholarships.

American English promises the “complete Beatles experience,” including the iconic look, accent and mannerisms. The group employs authentic costumes, vintage instruments and special lighting and sound to transport fans to the era of the Fab Four.

The Chicago-based band has played gigs throughout the world. The group even headlined International Beatle Week in Liverpool, England, in front of 50,000 people.

American English has been named Illinois Entertainer of the Year and has been voted best tribute band 3 of the past 4 years by its fans in the Chicagoland area.

General admission tickets are $20 and are available in Rock Falls at Loop Barber Shop, 301½ First Ave.; Jack Spencer State Farm Insurance, 313 First Ave.; and Rock Falls High School, 101 12th Ave.; and at Sauk Valley Bank, 904 First Ave., Rock Falls, 201 W. Third St., Sterling, and 300 Walton Drive, Dixon.

They also are available from any Optimist Club member or by calling 815-590-6270.
