Self Help takes over Stage Two Resale Shop
Shop to become training ground for the disabled
ROCK FALLS – Self Help Enterprises is now operating Stage Two Resale Shop, and its proceeds will go to the nonprofit, which provides job training and other services for adults with disabilities.
In fact, sometime down the line, Self Help will train its clients in retail work and they will be paid for working there, said Carla Haubrich, executive director of Self Help.
The thrift store at 225 First Ave. was owned by Sauk Valley Christian Academy in Galt. The school gave the business to Self Help on Feb. 1, and its volunteers will continue to give their time to the store, Haubrich said.
