POWAY, Calif. – Laura (Dixon) Rowe, 50, of Poway, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, in San Diego.

She was born Nov. 15, 1962, in Bancroft, Iowa, the daughter of William and Jacqueline (Claussen) Dixon. Laura graduated from Dixon High School in 1980. She attended Sauk Valley College. In 1983, she moved to San Diego.

She married Raymond Rowe on Oct. 8, 1988, at Humphrey’s Half Moon Inn, Shelter Island in San Diego. She graduated on Oct. 8, 1994, from Coleman College in La Mesa, Calif. She currently was employed by Beckman Coulter as a senior field service engineer.

Laura is survived by her husband, Ray; one son, Alex; one daughter, Rachel; her parents, Bill and Jackie Dixon of Dixon; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Vel and Wallace Rowe of Placentia, Calif.; three sisters, Deb (Ted) Cooper and Cindy (Bob) Knight, both of Dixon, and Vicki (Brett) Webb of Rockford; four brothers, Bill of Columbus, Ga., Randy (Dawn) of Chicago, David (Noreen) of Fort Collins, Colo., and Chris (Stephanie) of Wheaton; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Lisa Remmers; her brother-in-law, Bill Remmers; her sister-in-law, Robin Rowe; her niece, Brittney Dixon; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

A memorial service was Friday in El Cajon, Calif.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
