Curtis W. Shouer

OREGON – Curtis W. Shouer, 49, of Oregon, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at his home.

He was born Jan. 13, 1964, in Freeport, the son of Thomas and Darlene (Remmers) Shouer. Curt was a 1982 graduate of Oregon High School and attended Rock Valley College. He had worked in the family business in Oregon and at Quebecor in Mount Morris. Curt enjoyed fishing and collecting antiques, and was involved in volunteer work, including Rockford Contact.

He is survived by his parents, Tom and Darlene Shouer of Oregon; brother, Dean (Jennifer) Shouer of West Linn, Ore.; nieces, Nina Harp, Mallory (Brandon) Herring, and Sarah Jean Shouer; nephew, Timothy Jacob Shouer; and special friend, Melody Maves of Dixon.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

There will be no visitation. Services will be private, with Pastor Bruce McKanna of Mount Morris Evangelical Free Church officiating. Private burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Oregon. Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home in Oregon is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Curt’s name can be made to Hope Life Center in Dixon or Sterling.
