Bears license plate frame elicits warning

I was almost home from work on Feb. 21 when I was pulled over by a police officer. I knew I had been using my turn signals and wasn’t speeding, so I had no clue as to why. Maybe a brake light out?

He told me when I went past him at the corner of Peoria and state Route 2, he couldn’t see my seat belt on. I always have worn my seat belt since I got my driver’s license in 1974. I have fairly long hair (about one-third of the way down my back) and it was covering the front part of both shoulders.

I showed him how I can move the belt from the frame by the door up and down and keep it close to my shoulder so it doesn’t cut into my neck. He asked whether I’ve ever had a seat belt violation, and I told him, “Never.”

The other day, we ran a story about the Dixon Tourism Board's website, which is hard to navigate and missing key information, particularly about the Petunia Festival. Are we wasting our time examining local tourism websites?
