Cal Jarrett scored 24 points as the Dixon Dukes nearly knocked off the Geneseo Maple Leafs Friday on the road. The Maple Leafs were able to hold off the Dukes for a 55-49 win to close the regular season.

Jarrett made 8 of 13 field-goal attempts, and he also had six rebounds, three assists and two blocks for Dixon (3-24, 1-9 NIB-12 West). Matt Coffey added 13 points.

"It was a lot more competitive than the last time we played," Dixon coach Jason Mead said. "We lost by 28 the last time. So it's a good sign of the improvement the team has made. For playing a lot of freshmen and sophomores, we have been competing in every game."
