Sterling students raise money for heart health
STERLING – Students at Washington and Franklin elementary schools competed Feb. 12-14 in a Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser for the American Heart Association.
The students at each school tried to raise the most money during their physical education classes, with the winning school receiving an extra recess. Washington School won the competition with $2,154.40 to Franklin’s 1,831.57.
The students decorated their gymnasiums’ walls with pictures, poem, songs, stories, and other items. Parents, grandparents, and relatives were invited to watch and jump rope with the students.
