John ‘Jack’ Dyer
OREGON – John “Jack” Dyer, 92, passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at Tendercare of Ludington in Ludington, Mich.
John Milton Dyer was born July 19, 1920, near Amboy, the son of Marion C. and Emma Jane (Nichols) Dyer. He married Mildred “Millie” Grace Jones on April 15, 1939, in Clinton, Iowa.
He lived his early years in Lee and Ogle counties. He worked as a farm laborer, mason, and carpenter, eventually starting his own company, Dyer Remodeling. In 1959, John and his family moved to Wood Dale. In 1976, he moved to Westfield, Wis., and later to Big Flats, Wis. After a stroke in 1982, he lived in care centers, at the home of Helen Moore in Wisconsin, and in North Aurora and Ludington.
