MORRISON – Ralph Hamstra, 96, of Morrison, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center in Prophetstown. He farmed for 40 years in the Morrison area.

Ralph was born July 16, 1916, in Morrison, the son of Dewey and Johanna (Bielema) Hamstra. He married Rena C. Hook on Feb. 27, 1942, in Morrison. She preceded him in death on July 3, 2005. He was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison.

Survivors include one son, Mark Hamstra of Sterling; one sister, Dorothy Boonstra, and one brother, Donald Hamstra, both of Morrison; and many nieces and nephews.

He also was preceded in death by one sister, Alma Meinema; and one brother, Marvin Hamstra.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m., Saturday at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison, with Ken Renkes, director of congregational care at Ebenezer Reformed Church, officiating. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison.

Memorials have been established to Self Help, Ebenezer Reformed Church, and Resthave Nursing Home.
