Let’s renovate Memorial Pool in Rita’s name

I think this might be a way of healing for Dixon and this scandal.

I read with interest the article that the city of Dixon may receive upwards of $10 million from the sale of Rita Crundwell’s assets.

The city of Dixon has an opportunity to spend all this recovered money that isn’t in the budget for this year and probably next. They could spend it on a new garbage truck, fire truck, or a memorial to Mayor Burke.

I feel this money could best be spent on something the city of Dixon citizens have voiced their opinions on for years that they have wanted but couldn’t afford.

Let’s build a new swimming pool complex with the money. The citizens of Dixon have suffered because of the lack of proper accounting controls by the mayor and the city council, and they deserve to have a little fun swimming at the expense of Rita Crundwell.

You could even name the complex “The Rita Crundwell Memorial Pool Complex” to remind us of what happens when we don’t take proper care of city finances.
