Clarence C. ‘Klem’ Frank
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Clarence Charles “Klem” Frank, 69, of Bloomington, Ind., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Hospice House in Bloomington. Klem worked at the Monroe County, Indiana Public Defender’s Office, retiring in 2009.
Born March 25, 1943, in Amboy, he was the son of Clarence C. and Eunice A. (Steele) Frank. Klem graduated from Sterling High School in 1961. He was a veteran of the Army, having served in Vietnam in 1966 and 1967. He completed his college education in 1979 at Illinois State University. He attended law school at Indiana University, completing his degree in 1982. He was a loving husband and father, who was loved and respected by his family and peers. Klem enjoyed motorcycles, cars, reading, and spending time with family.
Klem is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Cheryl (Whitman) Frank; his son, Robert Frank; his mother, Eunice Frank of Sterling; his brothers and sisters, Doug (Mary) Frank of Portales, N.M., Barb (Kevin) Melberg of Rock Falls, Roger Frank of Sterling, Lois (Don) Weissenburger of Elburn, Bill (Rhonda) Frank of Galesburg, Betty (Ben) Mena of Rockford, and Gary (Gina) Frank of Sterling; sister-in-law, Nancy Frank of Sterling; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
