Talent show at TNPS

DIXON – The 17th annual Sauk Valley Talent Showcase will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at The Next Picture Show, at 113 W. First St.

The musical talent of students in junior high through college will be featured. Refreshments will be served. Admission is $5 for ages 13 and older, $4 for seniors, and $3 for ages 12 and younger.

Proceeds benefit scholarships for fine arts students at Sauk Valley Community College. Call 815-288-1890 for more information.

Brilliance on display in Morrison

MORRISON – West Carroll High School tubist Benjamin Rogers of Savanna will be a featured musician in the Clinton (Iowa) Symphony Orchestra's "Early Brilliance" concert, which begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Morrison High School Auditorium, 643 Genesee Ave.

This show is free for all students. Otherwise, tickets, available at the door, are $15 for adults. Advance tickets also are available at Wagner Pharmacy on North Second Street in Clinton, Fitzgerald Pharmacy in Morrison, and Grummert's Hardware in Sterling.

'Hello Dolly!'

STERLING – The classic musical "Hello Dolly!" will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Sterling High School's Centennial Auditorium, 1608 Fourth Ave.

Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students, or $20 for four, and are available from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday at the box office, and at 815-622-3248, at www.centennialauditorium.org and at the door. All seats are reserved.

Wine About Winter

STERLING – Wine About Winter, a wine, beer, music and food fest, will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Woodlawn Arts Academy, 3807 Woodlawn Road.

There will be wine, craft beer, scotches and spirits to sample, and jazz trio Chameleon will perform. The event is a benefit for Sterling Main Street, Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce and the academy.

Tickets are $30, or $50 per couple, at the door. Admission includes eight tasting tickets per person and hors d'ouevres. A limited number of commemorative glasses will be available.
