Saddened by 40 years of legal abortion
Comments (...)On Jan. 25, I wrote a letter to President Obama. On that very day, throngs of anti-abortion advocates, youth and adults, blanketed Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C., to show support for life.
Jan. 22, 2013, marked the 40th year since the Supreme Court made the infamous decision to legalize abortion. Since then, 50 million fetuses were aborted, a chilling and heart-rending thought. A copy of the letter to the president also was sent to John Roberts, chief justice of the United States.
In my letter, I admitted that President Obama’s mindset is a mystery to me. How he can permit and support abortion is a mystery to me, especially when he uses abortion in the political arena for his advantage, making it more incredible and painful to the anti-abortion advocates. Fifty million.
The culture of death hovers heavily over our nation. No leader is brave enough to voice loudly his thoughts. Enough of the killing of the unborn. Fifty million in 40 years.
A brave little woman, Mother Teresa of Calcutta, stood before the United Nations assembly with her message, “A nation that destroys its own, destroys itself.”
My letter to the president ended with my concern about marriage. What will the Supreme Court do? Traditional marriage of one man and one woman is the only marriage. It is traditional because of God’s design to replenish society with children and nurture the common good.
I’m happy that I persevered in writing to the president. I sent the letter certified and received the green card back. I closed with God’s blessings for the president, his family and our nation.

Our rights and the country itself was founded on secularism. Freedom of religion includes freedom from religion. I don't care what you want to believe in, but I will not stand by as yet another person attempts to mix their doctrine with legislation. I ask you to please keep church and state apart, as needed for the country to be successful. |
