Peterson: I have confidence in attorneys
CHICAGO (AP) — A hearing for a new trial in Drew Peterson's murder case has started with the former suburban Chicago police officer saying he has confidence in his current legal team.
Sitting at a defense table in blue jail garb, Peterson on Tuesday responded calmly, "Yes, your honor," when the judge asked if he had confidence in the lawyers.
Judge Edward Burmila said he needed to raise the prospect of a conflict of interest because one of his current attorneys, Steve Greenberg, is being sued for defamation by Peterson's former lead attorney, Joel Brodsky.
