BROOKFIELD – Friendship sometimes defies boundaries and such is the case with a white-cheeked gibbon and an orangutan at Brookfield Zoo.

The gibbon, Thani, 3, met Kekasih, 4, in Tropic World Asia. Now Thani drops by for a visit every day. Watch for the gibbon jumping in the treetops on the way for a friendly chat.

The exhibit also is an excellent place to forget about the snow and cold of winter. It’s always a tropical paradise. Visitors follow a path that will take them through three continents – no passport needed.
