Corrupt politicians? Book ’em!

Another day, another Illinois politician in legal trouble. We keep waiting for the final chapter to be written in the state’s long history of political corruption. After a serious charge was filed against former U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., we’re still waiting.

With their investigation of the Jacksons, federal prosecutors have disproved that belief once again.

So, corruption-minded politicians have a choice. They can change their ways voluntarily, or they can do so involuntarily – behind bars.

If judges throw the book at enough crooked politicians, maybe more will play by the book, and the book can finally be closed on a shameful era.

They are ALL crooks! Shorter term limits. Succeed from Chicago. A government of the people, by the people,for the people! Get some "average Joe's" in office - not career politicians.

Wise saw collapse in support

Last week, Sterling Alderwoman Amy Viering attended her last meeting as a city official. She gave the usual praise one hears at such departures. But one compliment stuck out. At the end of her speech, she turned to City Administrator Scott Shumard and said, "You're awesome."
