City to vote on rezoning land for RV park
ROCK FALLS – The City Council is set to vote tonight on whether to allow Rock Falls businessman Brent Porter to build an RV park on 17 acres at 600 E. 17th St., behind Crystal Lake, his seasonal swimming and go-cart facility.
The council is being asked to rezone the land to Ag-1 special use, as recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
Mayor David Blanton said he hopes the council will approve the request. Porter plans to begin construction on Phase 1 this spring. There be sites for RVs, and eventually, tent camping, Blanton said.
