Morrison team wins tournament

Newman finishes second in Fulton

FULTON – Morrison High School’s team won the Masonic Academic Bowl sectional tournament in Fulton on Saturday.

Newman Central Catholic High School finished second, Bureau Valley High School third and Fulton High School fourth.

Morrison heads to the state tournament on March 2 in Springfield.

At the sectional tournament in Byron on Saturday, Rockford’s Keith Country Day School won. The only area high school listed in the final results was Byron High School, which finished fourth.

Thirty tournaments across the state were held Saturday.

Other area teams that took part were Oregon, Ashton-Franklin Center, and Forreston in Byron, and West Carroll, Amboy, Prophetstown, Erie, and Milledgeville in Fulton.
