Kathleen A. Card

STERLING – Kathleen A. Card, 53, died in her home Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, after a battle with ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease.

Kathy was born April 6, 1959, in Rockford, the daughter of Terry M. and Judith C. Friel. 

Kathy married Samuel S. Card on Dec. 13, 1991, in Rockford.

Kathy most recently worked for First National Bank in Amboy, Dixon South and Dixon North locations.

Survivors include her husband; her mother, Judi of Rockford; sisters, Kris (Tom) Clark of Rockford and Kari (Neil) Vincer of Roscoe; a brother, Kelly (Holly) Friel of Roscoe; sister-in-law, Sue (Ron) DeJonge of Sterling; brother-in-law, Tom (Vickie) Card of Michigan; grandmother, Hazel Friel of Rockford; and uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling. The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Schilling Funeral Home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the ALS Foundation, Gaffey Home Nursing and Hospice, and Granny Rose Animal Shelter.
