Two stores sell alcohol to minors in compliance check, police say

STERLING – Two liquor stores were caught selling alcohol to minors in a compliance check last week, state police said.

State police surveyed 10 businesses selling alcohol in Sterling, Rock Falls, Lyndon and Morrison Wednesday night. The Beverage Store, 500 West Route 30 in Rock Falls, and FS gas station/Morrison Fuel 24, 615 E. Lincolnway in Morrison, were involved in the sale of alcohol to minors, according to a news release.

Store employees Nicholas Litts and Tamela Kuehl, were charged with unlawful delivery of liquor to a minor, a misdemeanor, and given a notice to appear in court.
