STERLING – American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Whiteside County's annual kickoff will be at 6:30 p.m. March 5 in the Ryberg Auditorium at CGH Medical Center, 100 E. LeFevre Road.

Friends, neighbors, cancer survivors, caregivers, and anyone interested in learning more about Relay For Life are welcome to attend. Information will be provided about the society's mission. Refreshments will be served and prizes will be given out.

The relay is an overnight event during which teams from businesses, schools, churches, community groups, and families build cancer awareness and raise money to fight cancer before and at the event. The main objective of the relay is to provide money for cancer research and to help cancer patient. It also is a time to celebrate the lives of survivors and to remember those who lost their lives to cancer.
