Goodyear’s run in Sterling comes to end

Goodyear, at 220 E. Third St., closed Monday after more than 40 years at that location.

The store had five employees, Davis said.

Cochran’s Pub to replace Dyl’s Deli

STERLING – Dyl’s Deli soon will be replaced by Cochran’s Pub.

Dave and Deanna Cochran, 38 and 36, of Sterling, are hoping to open the bar and grill March 1.

Dave Cochran has tended bar at Corner Tap in Rock Falls for 9 years.

In addition to liquor, the bar at 13464 Galt Road will offer frozen pizzas, mozzarella sticks and jalapeno poppers. The menu will be expanded later, Dave Cochran said.

The pub also will rent out space for special events, he said.

By summertime, they want to incorporate transportation home for customers by mini bus or van, he said. The rides would be free or very inexpensive, he said.

Opening times have not been set, but the bar will be open until 1 a.m. every day except Sunday, when it will close at 10 p.m., he said.

Cochran will keep Dyl’s number, 815-625-07495.
