NELSON – Doris H. Minor, 86, of Nelson, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at Coventry Living Center in Sterling. She worked as a secretary at various businesses for many years.

She was born March 6, 1926, in Woosung Township, near Polo, the daughter of George D. and Myrtle (Combs) Brown.

Survivors include her son, Dan (Susan) Minor of Rock Falls; three daughters, Melissa (Russell) Thompson of Nelson, Lori Castro of Littleton, Colo., and Cyndie (Robert) McClone of Roscoe; one sister, Marge Parks of Rock Island; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Earl, Dale, Lester, Donald, Nevin, and Lyle; and one granddaughter.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by the funeral at 10 a.m., Monday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, with the Rev. Henrietta Milner, pastor of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rock Falls, officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.

Memorials may be made to Passages Hospice.
