MOUNT MORRIS – George W. Noble, 88, of Mount Morris, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home in Mount Morris. He was a farmer and also tested milk for DHIA.

George was born Jan. 18, 1925, in Pine Creek Township, the son of Charles and Adelaide Faye (Bovey) Noble. He attended the Mount Morris schools. George served in the U.S. Army in Japan during World War II. He married Mary Isabell Galyean on Aug. 22, 1947, in Mount Morris. He was a member of Mount Morris Church of the Brethren.

Survivors include his son, George W. (Brenda) Noble Jr. of Oregon; son-in-law, Roy Albertson of Benton, Ky.; daughters, Cathie (Brian) Grover of Chana, and Shirley (Tom) McPhillips of Mount Morris; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Gail Albertson; son, Charles Noble; grandson, Lance Albertson; great-granddaughter, Felisha Albertson; brother, John; and sister, Adelaide.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Finch Funeral Home in Mount Morris, with the Rev. Virginia Haney officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.

Memorials may be made to Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home.
