Bowl-a-Thon benefits Junior Achievement
DIXON – The annual Junior Achievement Bowl-a-Thon raised more than $10,000 to benefit programs that teach students financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship.
Fourteen teams from area businesses bowled for 3 hours Saturday afternoon at Plum Hollow Family Center. Each team was asked to raise at least $300 in pledges; many raised more than the minimum.
Teams representing KSB Hospital, CGH Medical Center and Donaldson Co., among other local businesses, hooted and hollered as they rolled colorful balls at the triangular formation of pins. Some munched on pizza while others donned their blue raffle tickets as scarves and headbands.
