Honor Flight offers trip to capital

STERLING – Veterans can contact the Whiteside County Honor Flight Committee for a free trip to see memorials in Washington, D.C.

The costs are covered by the Quad Cities Honor Flight Organization.

Veterans of any age and from any county can take part. They do not have to attend monthly meetings.

Any veteran who needs a wheelchair will be assigned a guardian for individual assistance. Medical staff members accompany every flight.

The Whiteside Honor Flight Committee meets at 9 a.m. the first Wednesday of each month in the basement of the United Way of Whiteside County building, 502 First Ave.
