CLINTON – There is still no cause known for a Wednesday afternoon fire that may have caused almost $500,000 damage to a local business.

Firefighters spent approximately 1½ hours fighting a fire at a truck garage building at Darling International, 1423 Beaver Channel Parkway.

The Clinton Fire Department was dispatched to the business at 3:12 p.m. The department responded with one ladder truck, three engines, one paramedic ambulance, a command vehicle and 13 personnel. Fulton and Camanche, Iowa firefighters responded with mutual aid.
