STERLING – The public is invited to a Valentine's Day dance and the crowing of the Miss Valentine Queen Saturday at the Latin American Social Club, 2708 W. Lincolnway.

The event, which runs from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., features DJ music until 8:30 p.m., dance music by Sabor Latino until 9:45 p.m., introduction of the queen candidates in a runway walk, then balloting until 11:30 p.m., and the announcement of the winner and runners up at midnight.

The candidates are Stephanie Guerrero, 15, of Rock Falls; Sofia Renteria, 15, of Sterling; Korinna Ramirez and Erika Olivo Ledesma, both 17 and of Sterling, and Tania Romo, 18, of Rock Falls. The winner gets $200, first runner up gets $100, and the other three girls get $50 each.
