Ashes to go at AirPlay Sports

STERLING – Local clergy will impose ashes from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Wednesday for Ash Wednesday at AirPlay Sports and Espresso, 115 E. Third St.

Ashes will be placed upon people's foreheads as a sign of the start of Lent. Participating ministers are the Rev. Christina Berry, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, and the Rev. Peg Williams, rector of Grace Episcopal Church. Laypeople from the churches will assist.

Everyone who receives ashes also will get a handout containing prayers to use during Lent. Call 815-625-0442 for more information.
