MORRISON – Hilda Fern Colebaugh Bridgeman, 105, of Morrison, formerly of Dixon, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Pleasant View Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Morrison. She was a registered nurse at the Illinois Department of Mental Health for 40 years before retiring.

Hilda was born Jan. 3, 1908, in East St. Louis, the daughter of Halic Llewellyn and Nellie Frances (Jones) Cox. She was a graduate of Effingham High School and Rockford College. Hilda married A.J. Colebaugh on Sept. 4, 1936. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1961. She married Lloyd F. Bridgeman on June 30, 1972. He preceded her in death on June 10, 1980. Hilda was a member of First Baptist Church in Patoka, Rockford College Charter Club, Dixon Branch of American Association of University Women, Dixon Women’s Club, Ogle-Carroll Salon 670 (8 & 40), Ladies Auxiliary Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Highland Lodge 2539, and a lifetime member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 12 in Dixon.

Survivors include one sister, Edith Bowen; and several nieces and nephews.
