Hawks rally past Rockford

Sam Lambrigtsen tossed in 22 points to lead Oregon to a 50-35 victory over pesky Rockford Christian in a Class 2A Byron Regional semifinal on Wednesday.

The Hawks (23-6) trailed 28-27 entering the final quarter before closing on a 23-7 run. Lambrigtsen scored seven points, McKaylee Beeter hit a 3-pointer and Oregon converted 12 of 16 free-throw attempts to pull away.

Madeline Sanders finished with nine points for the Hawks, who will take on Byron in the championship game.

Jenica Bates and Jayla Penney each had 10 points for Rockford Christian.

2A Newman Regional

Riverdale 73, West Carroll 28: Hannah Nimrick paced a balanced attack with 21 points as the Rams routed the Thunder to move into the Newman Regional title game.

Also for Riverdale (23-2), Jess Corson and Lauren Claus each had 16 points.

Abby Maike led West Carroll (4-22) with 11 points.

1A Aquin Regional

Dakota 45, Eastland 26: The Cougars led 11-5 after one period, then fell flat against the Indians in an Aquin Regional semifinal.

Courtney Walker paced Eastland (20-9) with 10 points.

Jaycee Cleaver led Dakota (20-10) with 17 points. The Indians will take on Aquin in the title game on Friday.
