Edward E. Yde

FREEPORT – Edward Emil Yde, 75, of Freeport, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, Wis., after an extended illness. He worked at Micro Switch (Honeywell) for 38 years.

He was born Aug. 7, 1937, in Freeport, to Edward William and Jean (Clayton) Yde. He served in the Air Force from 1957 to 1961 and the Air Force Reserves from 1961 to 1963. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Freeport. He married Katherine “Kay” Lucile Ryan in 1962, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife of Freeport; three children, Matthew (Darcy) Yde of Wausau, Wis., Steven (Patty) Yde of Sterling, and Andrea (Lance) Roelfs of Freeport; his sister, Pat (Don) Steuck of Dubuque, Iowa; and 10 grandchildren.
