STERLING – Amanda F. “Ann” Mitchell, 88, of Sterling, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. She worked at Borden in Dixon for 20 years.

She was born Jan. 3, 1925, in Sterling, the daughter of Eilert and Trencia (Oelrich) Hippen. She married Norval Mitchell on Oct. 21, 1942, in Seattle. He preceded her in death on June 25, 1992. She was a member of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her sisters, Shirley Magnuson of Walnut and Doris Stewart of Dixon; her brothers, Ailt Hippen and David Hippen, both of Sterling, and Jack Hippen of Dixon; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling.
